Hi Tower Game

Hi-Tower is the largest of all the tower games, in fact it's GIANT. the clever design using gaps between the blocks means the game lasts a long time, building the tension as the game gets higher and higher until there is a giant tower of blocks

Made from quality pine from FSC certified forests, the giant tower starts at 3ft 6inches and builds up to over 5ft in play.

Each giant block is 285mm long. 58 blocks, packed in a colourful cardboard display box.

The Origins Of Hi Tower And Jenga

The Original and smaller version of The Hi Tower Game in its current form was invented in 1974 by Leslie Scott and became the household name Jenga. It grew out of a childhood game created around a present of wooden building blocks bought from a local craftsman in Africa. The family called it 'Takaradi Bricks' named after the city in which it was produced. This game still exists in its original form, however never achieved the financial success and market of Jenga. They brought the game back to England in the 1980s and introduced it to their friends at Oxford University, Calling it Jenga, they started selling the game and immediately took out copyright on the rules. From that day forth Jenga was created and has been a well known name ever since. Jenga was promoted in the United States by Robert Grebler and was first manufactured there by Milton Bradley (now part of Hasbro) in 1987.

Jenga is played by starting with 54 wooden blocks and each block is 3 times as long as it is wide, and slightly shorter in height than in it's width. The blocks are then stacked into a tower formation. Each story is made up of three blocks placed adjacent to each other horizontally along their long side, and each story is placed ontop of the previous. There are always 18 stories to a Jenga tower.

Once the Jenga tower is built, the person to go first has to remove the first block without knocking the tower over. Moving in Jenga consists of taking only one block from any story except the completed top level of the tower at the time of the turn, and placing it on the top story in order to complete it. Only one hand at a time may be used when removing a block. Both hands can be used, but only one hand may be on the tower at a time. Blocks may be bumped to find a loose block that will not disturb the rest of the tower.
